Margaret Wanjiku

PhD Candidate in Evolutionary Biology in the joint doctoral program at San Diego State University and the University of California, Riverside. My research develops statistical and computational methods for detecting ghost introgression, structured gene flow, and complex demographic histories from genomic data. I use population-genetic modeling, simulation, demographic inference, and reproducible bioinformatics workflows to investigate how evolutionary processes shape genetic variation. I also have experience in phylogenomics, population genomics, bioinformatics training, university teaching, and scientific community building.
